Interest: : Stealing other people's interestsFrom Ardorado.com
I collect interests of others for a living, because our site (yes, this very site) is based on organizing human interests. However, you cannot call it “stealing”, because this information is available on the Internet for free. Most of it is already in FOAF format. FOAF vocabulary has a special property (foaf:interest) for description of human interests. When I only started to collect interests, I was very surprised to find out in a very first dataset, that I analyzed, that a lot of other people are interested in “stealing other person’s interests”. The portion of people interested in this particular subject is rather high… To tell the truth, I have no idea what all these people are stealing interests for. This question intrigues me very much. So, I propose to use this page to discuss different usage of interests. Please leave your opinion how interests can be used. At the end of the year (on September 17, 2007) we will conduct a poll which usage of interest is most original and most profitable. I personally will pay winners in these 2 categories $300 each. My usage of other people interests do not makes me rich, but provides me with dissent living and I hope to win your vote on its originality.
